Eminem, Big Sean & BabyTron Link Up For “Tobey”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Yesterday was Canada Day; today is Detroit Day.

I wonder how it feels to undeniably be the hottest rapper in your city. Despite Detroit boasting some impressive talent, Eminem has been the undisputed top rapper from the Motor City for about 25 years. The good news is that Em has used his influence for good, consistently linking up with younger artists from Detroit.

Today, Eminem released a new single with two Detroit artists with considerable clout: BabyTron and Big Sean. It’s called “Tobey.”

Tobey Maguire can officially be labeled the GOAT, with Eminem naming a track after him. That said, this track, driven by a nimble hip-hop beat, is definitely on some rap superhero s**t. It features a slick, clever verse and hook by BabyTron, where he finds numerous ways to claim he’s the one. Big Sean delivers an aggressive verse, talking about his unbreakable mentality and wads of clout. Finally, we get a surprisingly chill verse by Eminem, where he warns his competition about dissing him, speaks on his resilience, and toys with a complex flow that will have your head in a spin cycle. Overall, I like the trio’s chemistry.

Eminem’s rollout for his forthcoming album has been excellent.

Dope shit ! This was great. I am more impressed about the beat and production, felt unconventional. Em has shown good range in these 2 singles. Hyped for slim’s death !
