RATLIFF Lives Life Freely In “Swift”

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

RATLIFF is blocking negative vibes like Theo Ratliff blocks shots.

RATLIFF is an underground rapper repping the twin cities. What makes him dope (At least to me) is that his music sounds completely organic. In other words, he likes to do work over pure hip-hop beats, likes to talk about some meaningful s**t, and usually raps with an unfiltered style.

Some of RATLIFF’s biggest singles are “Hold U Close,” “Hard Days Work,” and the track I will talk about below, “Swift.”

In “Swift,” RATLIFF talks about feeling free, making major moves, and maintaining a positive mindset. He also discusses ditching drugs. The first thing I like about this song is its pace. It’s powered by a feverish pop-hop beat that will make you want to dance, get some chores done, or kick ass in NBA2K. As for RATLIFF, I love the infectious chorus he delivers and how he maintains a steady, even keel throughout (Don’t sleep on an even-keel rapper).

Check out “Swift” below.
