Trae Tha Truth Hops On J. Cole’s “Trae Tha Truth In Ibiza (Remix)”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Trae Tha Truth obviously fits this track perfectly.

Hands down, the best track on J. Cole’s Might Delete Later album is “Trae Tha Truth In Ibiza.” I absolutely love the sporadic flow Cole uses, along with his blend of humble and braggadocious lyrics. Plus, it’s fantastic that he paid homage to a Texas legend like Trae Tha Truth.

On Friday, a remix of “Trae Tha Truth In Ibiza” hit streaming services, and guess who’s featured… Trae Tha Truth himself! (Who would’ve thunk it?)

Trae Tha Truth doesn’t reinvent the wheel in this remix of “Trae The Truth in Ibiza;” he uses the same one J. Cole did. In other words, Trae relies on the same sporadic flow Cole uses in the original version. Lyrically, Trae denounces serpents, teases his competition, and basks in his vacation days. All in all, I think he killed this track.

Trae Tha Truth doesn’t strike me as a guy that would vacay in Ibiza…
