Childish Gambino is artist of the month.

Lowkey, Childish Gambino has spoiled us this month. He was featured on a fantastic track with Kaytranada called “Witchy” (From Kaytranada’s TIMELESS album), and then dropped a full-blown album, his first since 2021, called Bando Stone & The New World.

Childish Gambino is not done yet. While we can expect to see him in a movie soon, he also decided to treat us with a collaboration featuring the amazing Ravyn Lenae called “One Wish.” I’m sad that the track doesn’t feature our guy RAY J.

In “One Wish,” Ravyn Lenae addresses someone who promised to be there for her but was constantly absent, leaving her with neglected birthday cakes and unflushed toilets. In his verse, Childish Gambino portrays someone who makes excuses for not being present when his partner truly needs him.

The first thing that grabbed me about this track is the beat—it’s vintage-sounding, quirky, and dramatic. As for Ravyn Lenae and Childish Gambino’s vocal performances, they deserve chef’s kisses. I particularly love how both artists deliver dreamy and intoxicating vibes, showcasing incredible chemistry.
