There are more talented artists from Toronto than just Drake, guys. The city is home to many additional talented hip-hop artists. One of the most impressive I’ve come across is Clay Captcha. Why do I say this? Because he has an outstanding ear for music, knows how to blend genres well, and effortlessly switches between rapping and singing. Overall, he just has that ‘It’ factor.
Some of Clay’s biggest singles are “OMO.,” “Crystal Ball,” and “Good Guy.” His latest release, “Depend$,” is one of the best I’ve heard from him.
One of my favorite words in the dictionary is “depends.” It leaves room for flexibility and lets you postpone making major decisions. In “Depend$,” Clay Captcha explores balancing work and fun, reminding us that, ultimately, people will “do what they like;” especially her.
The performance Clay Captcha puts up in this track is outstanding. I absolutely love the highly infectious, silky smooth chorus he lays down and his memorable melodies, especially with how they sound layered on top of the high-quality, somewhat dramatic production. All in all, I can see you tossing this track on in many scenarios—while chilling at a house party, kicking it with a shawty, or even while mowing your lawn (Yeah, I listen to relaxing bangers while mowing my lawn).
