⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rating: 4 out of 5.Rappers have no excuses for not releasing music now that Tory Lanez is doing what he’s doing from jail.
The most impressive thing I’ve heard this year has to be Tory Lanez’s “Prison Tapes” tracks from last week, “Cell 245” and “L.M.B.B.” Not only are they fantastic (“Cell 245” is on some gritty rap s**t, while “L.M.B.B.” is on some smooth R&B-hop s**t.), but the quality is very impressive, given that Tory recorded them from jail.
Apparently, we can expect new drops from Tory Lanez every week. Today, he dropped two new singles: “Know What You Need” and “Shots Come For Free.” Below, I will talk about the latter.
Tell me you was with me, no, the f**k you n***as wasn’t
When them choppas get to bustin’ [?] for my cousin
Corner store know I’m the man
When I’m poppin’ with these fours and plus these grams
They got me goin’
Rainwater, hail and random snow I’m blowin’
I’m a familiar face with all them things they see me at the trap
It’s like I’m glowin’Tory Lanez in “Shots Come For Free”
In “Shots Come For Free,” Tory Lanez doesn’t talk about generously giving Casamigos shots to a group of random women. Instead, he talks about giving out headshots to his enemies. He also mentions beating the odds, rolling with shooters, and being ready for whatever God throws at him.
“Shots Come For Free” is driven by an action-packed, dark beat with a fast tempo and plenty of thumps. Over it, Tory Lanez raps relentlessly in his verses, employing a consistent flow, a gangsta tone, and squeaky moments. On the hook, he delivers something that is both emotional and catchy as hell. All in all, if you are a fan of a vengeful Tory, you’ll enjoy this s**t.
Tory Lanez’s street cred should go up after he is released from jail. Songs like these will hit so much harder.
