Saweetie Talks Big In “My Best”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Saweetie stays with a hit.

Ready for a mind-blowing fact? Saweetie hasn’t released her debut album yet. While she’s put out EPs and collaboration projects, a full studio album is still on the horizon. Studio albums come with higher expectations, so why not take the time to perfect your craft before making that big debut?

However, Saweetie has kept fans well-fed this year, dropping an EP and several singles like “Richtivities” and “NANi.” Recently, she returned to the music scene with her latest single, “My Best.”

Ride fast, sip slow
Forty-inch weave, that wind blow
Muaddi got me on my tip toes
You dusty hoes need a lint roll

Saweetie in “My Best”

One thing Saweetie doesn’t lack is confidence. In “My Best,” she boasts about her unmatchable glow, enviable face card, and her preparedness for the challenges that come with fame. She also takes a direct shot at her competition, who always seem to have something negative to say about her.

As someone who has crucified Saweetie for her occasionally basic raps, I must admit she stepped up her game here. Her whispery style allows her to glide effortlessly over the sly production, giving off the vibe that she was counting money while recording. This track has the potential to silence some of Saweetie’s critics and showcase her versatility.
