Rating: 4.5 out of 5.Tory Lanez is feeding families from jail.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but what Tory Lanez is doing is amazing. Every week, from jail, he’s releasing two new singles. One is usually on the hard-hitting side, while the other is usually on the silky smooth R&B side. He rarely lets the two genres overlap. Today, that trend continues with two new singles: “Rodeo Drive” and “580 Benz.”
“Rodeo Drive” is the R&B banger between the two, and I absolutely love it! The track boasts a beautiful melody, a smooth, uptempo beat that channels prime T-Pain vibes, and lyrics that find Tory Lanez reminiscing about spoiling and spending intimate moments with a bad-ass chick in LA. Its universal appeal and catchy sound will easily draw you in.
On the other hand, “580 Benz” leans more toward rap, though it’s not as explosive as some of Tory’s recent rap releases. The track is driven by a gentle trap beat with a cinematic ’80s drama feel. Tory’s delivery is cold and calculated in his verses as he raps about hustling, exotic vacations, and tricky situations. He also delivers this highly infectious chorus, which is clearly the best thing about the song. HollywoodSos closes things out with a reflective verse about the struggles he’s had to overcome.
Tory isn’t missing from jail.
