Russ Says He Wants To “Get Up & Get It”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

If this track doesn’t motivate you, that’s a problem.

Russ is an excellent follow on X (formerly Twitter); he offers valuable advice for aspiring artists and exposes issues like fake streams. He also excels at documenting his tour life, providing fans with a behind-the-scenes look at his journey. Despite all this, his music remains his strongest offering, and he’s been releasing a lot of it recently.

Today, Russ returned with a new single called “Get Up & Get It.” As expected, it showcases his unique personality front and center once again.

In “Get Up & Get It,” Russ does what he does best—he talks about working tirelessly to provide for his family, from his siblings to his parents. What does that mean for him? It’s all about avoiding the pitfalls that the rest of us might fall into and pushing through exhaustion to stay on top of his game. Despite the track being just 1:52 long, Russ makes the most of it with a rapid flow. Overall, it’s a solid track, but it seems like something that might not make it onto a future album.

Russ’ messages have been resonating with me lately.
