Rating: 5 out of 5.Drake refuses to flinch.
Drake teased on Twitter and Instagram that he’s “ready for game 2.” If you ask me, Kendrick vs. Drake went the full seven games, so it would’ve made more sense if he said he’s ready for series number 2. Either way, it seems like The Boy is gearing up for something big.
On Saturday, Drake officially dropped two new tracks on Spotify that have been making waves on social media over the past few days: “Circadian Rhythm” and “No Face.” Below, I’ll dive into the latter.
Drake takes shots at all 20 of his rivals in this track without naming names. He kicks things off with the line: “N****s got lit off the features I skated on/I gotta know, I gotta know/How you get lit off the n***a you hatin’ on?” From there, he continues to talk his s**t, flaunting his unbeatable numbers, hinting at some plans to take a few people out, and showing no signs of stress despite the ongoing drama.
Though Drake claims he’s not too bothered by his confrontations, he sounds agitated for much of the track. When you layer his raps (Which are presented with a relentless flow that I love) on top of the bass-heavy, dramatic production, you get a great warning shot.
Drake may have lost to Kendrick Lamar, but he’s whooping everyone else.
