Joey BADA$$ & Chlöe Unite For “TELL ME”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

It looks like Joey wants to end up on the radio again.

To this day, Joey Bada$$’s ALL?AMERIKKKAN BADA$$ remains one of my all-time favorite albums. While some might argue he’s lost his touch since then, I believe he’s simply explored new ventures and experimented with different sounds. Today, Joey Bada$$ has teamed up with Chlöe for what might be his most commercial track in a while. It’s called “TELL ME.”

“TELL ME” is smooth—real smooth, like Gary Coleman’s hair. The track features laid-back production that pulls you in effortlessly. Over it, Chlöe delivers hypnotizing vocals with lyrics that express her desire for a love that’s genuine and unfiltered. Joey Bada$$ complements her with verses that showcase his relentless flow and lyrics about a relationship where he’s the provider and the one who can support her lifestyle. But is that the kind of love you’d want? Maybe, maybe not (Damn, I sounded like Trump right there). Overall, it’s a well-crafted track, though it might not be exciting enough for constant replay.
