Tessa Dalton Confesses the Truth in “Honest”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

This is a great song, honestly!

Tessa Dalton, a Nashville-based artist and relative newcomer to the indie pop scene, dropped her latest single “Honest?” this past week, and honestly (sorry, I had to), it’s another standout track.

The song’s lyrics delve into the uncertainty of a fading relationship, with Dalton reflecting on whether it’s meant to continue or if it’s all just a game. Her vocals shine over an instrumentation that perfectly complements the song’s introspective tone. In discussing the track, Dalton explained, “You reach a point in a relationship where you need to know if it’s going anywhere. You talk, spend time together, become friends—but was it worth it? Did the words mean anything? The truth is, most relationships don’t work out, and sometimes you have to be honest about that.”

“Honest?” is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Thankfully, Olivia Rodrigo was a good sport about it.
