I bet this song sounds amazing on a Game Boy.
Maxo Kream’s latest single, “Cracc At 15,” is anything but ordinary. Produced by Tyler, the Creator, the track blends gritty street storytelling with a soundscape so quirky and cartoonish it feels like it was plucked straight out of a 2025 reboot of Mega Man. The beat is playful yet layered, featuring woozy basslines, colorful synths, and a few moments that could easily pass as a lost The Neptunes demo.
Maxo, true to form, pulls no punches with his delivery. His flow is relentless—like a numb, emotionless machine firing off bar after bar. Lyrically, he takes us back to his early teens, reflecting on a life steeped in drug dealing, cripping, ducking charges, and running with shooters. His verses sit in stark contrast to the beat, creating a concoction that makes the song feel jarring but oddly captivating.
“Cracc At 15” is not a track for everyone. It’s an acquired taste. I probably won’t replay it, but I’m glad I listened to it.
Maxo Kream and Tyler, the Creator’s relationship is a very odd one.
