Paige Corwin Says You “Should’ve Known” Better

Rating: 4 out of 5.

A catchy pop single that will get stuck in your head quickly.

Paige Corwin is a singer-songwriter from Rhode Island who now calls New York City home. As anyone familiar with the city knows, it can make or break you if you’re not mentally resilient, and Paige embodies that strength. In her music, she fearlessly embraces vulnerability and showcases her unfiltered emotions, demonstrating her willingness to confront the challenges that come with it. Musically, she’s also strong, exploring a range of genres from R&B to funk to hip-hop over the years. Recently, Paige released a new single called “Should’ve Known,” which highlights everything that’s great about her artistry.

In “Should’ve Known,” Paige Corwin explores the complex emotions that accompany a breakup. She has moments of empowerment, confidently reminding her ex that he’s missing out on being with an incredible woman. However, she also candidly reflects on the pain she still feels regarding the end of their relationship, even recounting an awkward encounter with him at a club. Despite the song’s emotional weight, it maintains an upbeat feel. The production features a nice tempo and a feel-good vibe, while Paige sings with a secure and infectious style. Ultimately, I think this is a fantastic track with a relatable theme.

Thankfully, Olivia Rodrigo was a good sport about it.
