Young Thug & Nigo Link Up For “Dope Boy”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Any new Thugger tracks are great to listen to.

Just like every other industry, relationships are key in the music world. If you choose to be an anti-social musician, don’t expect too many doors to open for you. This is particularly true for Nigo, a streetwear fashion designer who is also a DJ, hip-hop producer, and label owner. Though he’s relatively unknown to the general public, Nigo’s influence in the music industry is undeniable. He’s worked with major players like Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Clipse, and more. Today, Nigo dropped another high-profile single called “I Know NIGO!” featuring Young Thug.

Young Thug absolutely snaps in “Dope Boy.” Over a dramatic, multi-layered beat from Wheezy, the Atlanta rapper taps into his pure rap side, delivering a steady flow with a bold tone. Lyrically, Thugger talks about his love for getting high, spoiling his daughter with designer items, stealing his opps’ women, and flaunting expensive diamonds. While I’m always a fan of his melodic side, hearing him go off in this freestyle-like mode is a refreshing reminder of his versatility.

Free Young Thug until it’s backward. As a matter of fact, let’s do a prisoner swap with someone from Nigeria if we have to.
