Though he kicked off the year with singles focused on street life and “sliding,” his last two releases have taken a more emotional turn. Durk’s latest single, “Opportunist,” features some of the deepest reflection we’ve heard from Durk in a while.
In “Opportunist,” Lil Durk calls out fake love, honors the memory of fallen friends, and reflects on the hardships he’s witnessed. The track is driven by a dramatic trap beat that feels like it belongs on a 90s crime drama, paired with Durk’s emotionally charged melodic raps that complement the production perfectly. Even if you’re not from the streets, his wisdom about loyalty and persevering through trials should still resonate with you.
