Tyler, The Creator Releases “NOID”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I really wonder what Tyler, The Creator’s next album will be about…

Tyler, The Creator is one of the few people I’m okay with calling a hip-hop savior, mainly because he’s pushing the genre forward by stepping outside of the box as much as possible. Tyler is also on an impressive album win streak, with some even winning Grammys. In about a week, the LA native will release his latest album, CHROMAKOPIA. To get us hyped for it, he decided to drop the first single from it: “NOID.”

Has Tyler, The Creator entered his rockstar era? “NOID” is driven by an edgy, rock-inspired beat that becomes gentler as the song progresses. Over it, we hear emotional vocals, static-filled vocals, and traditional rap vocals from Tyler as he speaks on the paranoia he’s been living with lately. Overall, I love the track’s intense vibes and how they blend with Tyler’s profound lyrics. I also appreciate the inclusion of the African woman’s voice throughout (I’m not being offensive here; I’m African and recognize the sound of an African woman).

Did Tyler hit a strike with “NOID?” Let us know below.
