Gucci Mane & Sexyy Red Connect For “You Don’t Love Me”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

This is a match made in ratchet heaven.

Do you know what I found pretty odd? October 17 was last week, yet we didn’t receive any new music from Mr. 1017, also known as Gucci Mane. Instead, we got a video where he announced that he’s basically dropping most of his label’s artists. Ouch. The good news is this: Gucci Mane dropped a new single today titled “You Don’t Love Me,” featuring Sexyy Red.

I almost dropped to the floor when “You Don’t Love Me” started. Why? Because it features Gucci Mane’s iconic “I Think I Love Her” beat and a slightly altered version of the hook, with Sexyy Red sounding like a reincarnated version of the woman from the original. I don’t believe this should have happened at all. The silver lining is this: Sexyy Red fits the track nicely, delivering a slick verse about her influence on trappers like Gucci Mane. As for Gucci, he delivers a clever verse discussing the women he has and the clout he holds over his competition. Overall, I think the track is a decent remake.

People don’t know how great Gucci Mane was in his prime.
