Polo G Gives Us An Update On His Life In “S.I.P.”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Polo G may have to hold Chicago down now that Lil Durk is locked up.

Earlier this year, Polo G returned to the music scene with HOOD POET. While it was refreshing to hear his raps again, the album didn’t seem to resonate with the same impact as his earlier releases like Hall of Fame. Sensing the need for a follow-up, Polo dropped a new single titled “S.I.P.” today, which might hint toward an upcoming deluxe version of the album.

In “S.I.P.,” Polo G opens up about his struggles with drug addiction and his fixation on revenge. He also touches on the challenges he faces in relationships and the paranoia that comes with navigating street life. True to Polo G’s style, the track is backed by a moody trap beat that pairs well with his melancholic, melodic raps. While I wouldn’t call this a favorite, I do appreciate that Polo wasted no time dropping new music.

Polo G’s next project has to hit harder than Cam Chancellor.
