Ice Cube, Killer Mike & Busta Rhymes Are “Ego Maniacs”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Ice Cube, Killer Mike, and Busta Rhymes are three rappers who would slap you.

Ice Cube, Killer Mike, and Busta Rhymes bring their unique rap styles together on “Ego Maniacs,” a remix of Cube’s recent hit “It’s My Ego.” While they each represent different hip-hop scenes—California for Ice Cube, Atlanta for Killer Mike, and New York for Busta Rhymes—they share a reputation for being outspoken and staying true to their roots. This collaboration showcases their distinct voices.

In “Ego Maniacs,” Ice Cube, Killer Mike, and Busta Rhymes each bring their individual swagger to the track, fittingly focused on self-reflection. Killer Mike kicks things off, sharing insights on his journey in music; Ice Cube follows with a fierce reminder of his readiness to confront any challengers. Finally, Busta Rhymes closes with a tribute to the legendary artists who inspired him. While Mike delivers his lines sounding very laidback, Cube brings a gritty edge, and Busta’s energy is Hulk Hogan-level intense.

I was expecting this track to be all about politics. I’m a little disappointed.
