The Weeknd Crowned Most Streamed Male Artist of 2024 on Spotify

I told you that The Weeknd’s music is being played in more places than the ones where folks have a little more pride.

The Weeknd is officially the most popular male artist in the world… According to Spotify.

Today, the major streaming platform announced their annual numbers for artists, and The Weeknd came in 1st when it came to male acts and 2nd overall, behind Taylor Swift. Other acts behind him include Bad Bunny (3), Drake (4), Travis Scott (6), Peso Pluma (7), Kanye West (8), and Feid (10). Wale was nowhere to be found on the list.

I believe Spotify is the best way to measure how popular an artist is. I mean, I love music, and I haven’t been to a concert since 1964. However, I have Spotify, and I use it daily. That said, The Weeknd’s numbers on Spotify are astronomical. He averages 117 million monthly listeners and has several tracks with over 2 billion streams. Anyone who thinks The Weeknd isn’t a big dog needs a software update on their life.

Are The Weeknd’s Spotify numbers “meh” or a big deal to you?
