Teddy Swims and Giveon Pair Up For “Are You Even Real”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“Are You Even Real” is exactly what I need in 2025.

A Teddy Swims song featuring Giveon isn’t what I expected in the new year, but it’s here, and it did not disappoint. This duo works extremely well together. Teddy has a rugged, gritty sound, yet he makes hitting those high notes seem effortless. Giveon, on the other hand, brings a rich, deep register to the track. Together, they give me actual goosebumps.

Honestly, this song embodies everything a single should be. “Are You Even Real” is upbeat, feel-good, and something you can dance to. I was swaying along and vibing from the very start, It’s incredibly catchy and an undeniable earworm.

Lyrically, Teddy Swims and Giveon explore feelings of love, lust, and infatuation. It captures that surreal moment when someone seems so perfect that it makes you wonder if they’re even real. Forget an “I love you”—this is the year of being so captivated by someone, they feel like a dream.

Overall, I believe “Are You Even Real” is a certified hit. It makes me really excited for Teddy Swims’ upcoming album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2), set to drop on January 24th. I’ll definitely be overplaying this song and annoying my family.
