This is the NLE YoungBoy that I grew up listening to.
Doesn’t it seem like NLE Choppa does whatever he wants these days? I’ve seen him in movies, basketball games, streams, and R&B videos. Oh yeah, and he also seems to think we need 154 versions of “Slut Me Out.”
For those who miss the Memphis rapper who came up from the mud and was ready to “kill everything walking,” you get a glimpse of that version in his new single, “444.”
“444” is harder than trying to land a government job without a college degree. The track starts with a riveting, bouncy beat that gives the song a frantic, high-energy feel. As expected, NLE Choppa attacks the beat with a relentless flow, making it seem like he’s ready to go off on everyone despite being electrocuted. Lyrically, he revisits his violent ways, rapping about the pistols he’s packing and his readiness to confront smoke. Is the song productive? Probably not. But it does remind me of what he used to sound like.
I actually like it when NLE Choppa sounds like he has rabies.
