These are huge allegations from the Pontiac rapper.
One could argue that PlaqueBoyMax’s rise to prominence is largely due to his collaboration with DDG on “Pink Dreads.” The song received rave reviews online before being taken down without explanation or notice. Now, it seems we finally have an explanation—and it sounds like something straight out of Judge Judy.
According to DDG, one of the song’s producers and their managers removed the track in an attempt to blackmail him into paying more than the initially agreed-upon fee. As expected, DDG wasn’t having it, which led to the stalemate. In an Instagram post, the YouTuber even declared the song “dead” and said he’s over it, adding that the careers of those involved will be finished once he’s done with them.

This is the side of the music industry that I just don’t love. Too often, when people gain a little power, they abuse it, leading to unnecessary situations like songs being taken down and stalemates occurring. And who ends up being affected the most? The fans.
“Pink Dreads” is a legitimate hit—one that even DDG’s haters enjoy. Seeing it taken down so quickly over petty reasons is disappointing. Let’s see if PlaqueBoyMax and DDG can come together to create another hit.
