The Biggest First-Week Album Sales of 2025 So Far: The Weeknd Leads the Pack

Will anyone catch The Weeknd this year?

As January comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on 2025’s biggest first-week album debuts so far. While SAINt JHN or Nardo Wick could shake things up this week, the top 10 appears solidified for now.

Leading the charge is The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow with a massive 490K units sold, followed by Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U (246K), Lil Baby’s WHAM (140K), Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS (122K), and Mac Miller’s Balloonerism (81K).

No One Is Touching The Weeknd In First-Week Sales

One of the biggest surprises is Bad Bunny’s lower-than-expected first-week sales, though his midweek release may have impacted the numbers. Despite that, his album has performed well over time. Meanwhile, Drake and PND’s collaboration exceeded expectations, and Lil Baby’s strong debut proves his continued relevance in the industry.

What do you think of these numbers? Are they surprising, underwhelming, or just right? Let us know in the comments!
