Friendly reminder: Big Sean can rap his ass off.
Big Sean should definitely be in the “Big 3” conversation. In my opinion, he goes hard on tracks while also making ones that are catchy, conscious, and enjoyable. I personally think he just wants to live a more laid-back lifestyle rather than get caught up in the drama that comes with that title.
Recently, Big Sean dropped his Better Me Than You album. While I thought it was a solid listen, I don’t think it got enough buzz. Today, he decided to regain some of that attention by releasing a new freestyle, “Head To The Sky.”
In “Head To The Sky (Freestyle),” Big Sean reflects on his new life—one with a clearer head, new contracts, and plenty of lessons learned. He also brags a bit, touching on his bad b*tches and expensive items.
Backed by a soulful beat with just the right amount of oomph, Big Sean dives in with a steady flow, sharp punchlines, and a level of confidence we didn’t see in his last project. I’m really feeling this one.
Has Big Sean become an underdog?
