Bas and The Hics Reunite for Dreamy New Single “Everyday Ppl” Ahead of Joint Album “Melanchronica”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Every single track Bas comes out with will be reviewed on this site (Unless he drops a collab with Mario Judah).

Bas continues to prove he’s one of the most versatile voices in hip-hop. While fans often highlight his lyrical finesse—yes, he can rap circles around your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper—what really sets him apart is his fearless experimentation with sound. That creative spark shines brightest when he’s working alongside long-time collaborators The Hics, a musical pairing that dates back to 2016.

Now, Bas and The Hics are gearing up to release a brand-new joint album titled Melanchronica. The latest teaser from the project is a lush and captivating single called “Everyday Ppl,” which just dropped on streaming platforms.

On the track, Bas effortlessly blends melodic vibes with tight lyricism. He opens with hypnotic, soft-spoken singing before switching gears and delivering bars about linking up with a love interest—someone who clearly turned heads at brunch. His flow is relaxed but razor-sharp, matching the smooth-to-funky transition of the instrumental.

Meanwhile, Roxane Barker of The Hics carries a large portion of the track with her signature dreamy vocals. Her lyrics explore the bliss and vulnerability of surrendering to love, adding emotional depth and elegance to the song’s vibe.

“Everyday Ppl” starts off chill and soulful, but as Bas’ verse kicks in, the production leans into a quirky, old-school hip-hop style—making for an unexpected but rewarding sonic shift. The result is a genre-blurring collaboration that showcases both acts at their best.
