Leon Thomas is killing the game this year.

Leon Thomas is back, teaming up with R&B artist Halle for a new single. “Rather Be Alone” dropped on April 18th, and it’s edgy, dark, and soulful in all the best ways.

I love the way Leon blends genres. This track brings old soul and R&B to the forefront, but there’s also a touch of funk and even a hint of folk. It’s got an edgy, old-school vibe that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

The lyrics tell a heartbreaking story, with lines like, “I’d rather be alone than in a broken home.” Halle delivers some absolutely stunning runs in her verse, and Leon matches her energy effortlessly. She brings this beautiful, enchanting quality to the track that deepens the emotion and pulls you even further into the narrative. It’s dark, it’s entrancing, and it leaves you wanting more.
