Jagmeet Singh Apologizes to Drake After Attending Kendrick Lamar’s Toronto Concert

Yeah, Jagmeet should’ve known better.

Last week, Kendrick Lamar pulled off the unthinkable—performing live in Toronto, the home turf of his biggest rival, Drake. To make things even more intense, Kendrick performed his brutal diss tracks “Not Like Us” and “euphoria,” hyping up a crowd that demanded the moment.

For Toronto natives and die-hard OVO fans, this concert became an unexpected loyalty test. And one high-profile attendee who failed it? Jagmeet Singh, the former leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party (2017–2025), who was spotted in the crowd. Images of Singh quickly circulated online, eventually landing on Drake’s radar. The 6 God didn’t stay silent—he reportedly DM’d Singh, calling him a “goof.”

On Monday, Singh issued a public apology via Instagram. “I shouldn’t have gone at all,” he admitted. He also clarified that he mainly went to see SZA, and expressed love for Drake, saying, “OVO and Drake have lifted up this city and Canada.” He closed with a definitive statement: “For me, it’ll always be Drake over Kendrick.”

But if you were Drake, would that apology be enough? Honestly, the betrayal stings—especially when it comes from someone who should know just how deep this city’s loyalty runs.
