Kanye West Quietly Drops “PREACHER MAN” from “BULLY”

GOD cringed when Ye called this track “PREACHER MAN,” right?

Does Ye have an actual rollout plan for BULLY? Probably not. But if you’re a longtime fan, you’re likely fine with that. Last night—while most of us were mid-REM cycle—Kanye West surprise-dropped three new tracks: “PREACHER MAN,” “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST,” and “DAMN.” After just one listen to “PREACHER MAN,” I can confidently say I am excited about BULLY, despite dude being batshit crazy.

Kanye is one of the few rappers who can make a song hit without a heavy beat or thumping bass—and still have it sound fire. “PREACHER MAN” is a perfect example. The production is laidback and understated, letting Ye’s introspection take the lead. Lyrically, he dives into sacrifice, love, legacy, and growth, all while delivering his bars in the most Ye-esque way imaginable. The result? A track that quietly demands your attention and lingers long after the last verse.

No cap, this one’s a gem.
