Y’all should be very excited about this.
After years of anticipation and solo moves, Clipse — the iconic duo of Pusha T and Malice — have been in more places than Dennis Schroder this summer. On July 11 at noon, Clipse’s exclusive Tiny Desk Concert for NPR will hit the net, marking not only a rare live set from the Virginia legends but also a celebratory moment for the release of their long-awaited reunion album Let the Lord Sort ‘Em Out.
Tiny Desk has been a great platform for artists to strip back their sound and deliver some of the most memorable performances in recent memory, from Mac Miller and Anderson .Paak to Tyler, The Creator and T-Pain. Now, Clipse have the opportunity to join that elite list — and with their lyrical precision, seasoned presence, and emotionally weighty storytelling, they might just pull it off. BTW, Scarface had one of my favorite performances.
Given the timing, fans can expect a mix of classic tracks and new heat. Staples like “Grindin’,” “Mr. Me Too,” or “Keys Open Doors” would be right at home with a live band, and early buzz around Let the Lord Sort ‘Em Out suggests hard-hitting collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, The Creator, and Pharrell — any of which could make a surprise appearance or be featured in the setlist.
Virginia, we are so back!
