Metro Boomin’s ‘A Futuristic Summa’ Officially Debuts at #23 on Billboard 200

Metro Boomin’s ‘A Futuristic Summa‘ channels the energy of early 2010s mixtape culture.

Metro Boomin’s latest project, Metro Boomin Presents: A Futuristic Summa Hosted By DJ Spinz, has officially debuted at #23 on this week’s Billboard 200 with 23,000 units sold. While some fans might have expected a higher entry given Metro’s track record of blockbuster releases, this album was never meant to be about chasing numbers — it’s about channeling a feeling.

Metro has described A Futuristic Summa as a love letter to the early 2010s Atlanta hip-hop scene, aiming to bring back the energy of mixtape culture and summer anthems that once dominated the streets. With DJ Spinz hosting, the project captures the raw, playful, and high-energy production styles that defined an era.

The feature list is stacked with names that embody Atlanta’s legacy and evolution — Gucci Mane, Young Dro, Roscoe Dash, Quavo, Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Baby, T.I., 21 Savage, and Future, among others. Each artist contributes their own signature flair, making the album feel like both a time capsule and a celebration of Atlanta’s ongoing influence on rap.

A Futuristic Summa feels like it’s meant for hot nights, loud speakers, and pure nostalgia — the kind of record that could just as easily soundtrack a block party in 2011 as it could a rooftop vibe in 2025.
