If the original “SOMEBODY LOVES ME PT. 2” was champagne on ice, the remix is popping bottles in the club at 3 AM.”
While I’ve definitely had my fun with “NOKIA” in the clubs, the standout from $ome $exy $ongs 4 U has always been “SOMEBODY LOVES ME PT. 2.” The chemistry between Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR on the original was undeniable, thanks to their slick cadence and smooth delivery. Now, the duo has given the track new life with an official remix featuring Cash Cobain.
“SOMEBODY LOVES ME PT. 2” keeps the DNA of the original intact but leans heavier into an island-inspired bounce, with more tempo and energy injected into the beat. Cash Cobain kicks things off, borrowing the cadence from the original and crooning like a modern-day heartthrob. His lyrics mix romance with flexes, as he praises his main chick, celebrates running up a milli, and casually admits to spending way too much money on women around him.
Drake follows with a brand-new verse, trading in Miami for Brooklyn references and flexing upside-down Rolexes while cheekily admitting he’s down to play the “thotty” role for women eager to swap vibes with him. It’s classic Drake: playful, braggadocious, and still effortlessly cool.
PND closes things out with a short but passionate verse, accompanied by a shift in the instrumental toward something more sentimental and smooth. While some of the vocal alterations may be polarizing, his emotion cuts through. At the end of the day, this feels like a remix done right — one that expands the song rather than rehashing it.
