Joyner Lucas Drops Haunting New Single “NVM”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Joyner Lucas cast Mya in his new “NVM” video, and she delivers like a seasoned, award-winning actress.

Joyner Lucas quietly delivered one of the most slept-on hip-hop albums of the year with ADHD 2, balancing introspective tracks, explosive bangers, and commercial hits. This past weekend, he kept the momentum going with a new single, “NVM.”

“NVM” rides a haunting, borderline spooky instrumental that steadily intensifies as the track progresses. Joyner shifts seamlessly between a calm, conversational flow and a fiery, frustrated delivery across his two lengthy verses, ensuring every word lands.

Lyrically, the song delves into a toxic relationship. The woman vents frustration over the man’s seeming lack of drive, while he confesses he’s no longer feeling the connection. The result is a tense, push-and-pull dynamic that probably needs Iyanla, Fix My Life to fix.

At over seven minutes, “NVM” is undeniably long, but its intensity and emotional honesty make it compelling enough to hold your attention throughout. If you have time, I recommend giving the track below a try.
