Only The Poets Tempt Us With “Saké”

A mesmerizing indie pop gem that’s truly intoxicating.

UK-based band Only The Poets continues to charm listeners with their vibrant indie-pop sound. The group—made up of Tommy Longhurst, Andrew “Andy/Roo” Burge, Clem Cherry, and Marcus Yates—originated when lead vocalist and guitarist Longhurst, once a solo artist, was inspired to form a band. They debuted with the single “Ceasefire” in 2017 and took the stage for their first live performance a year later. By 2023, the quartet had signed with Virgin EMI Records, marking a new chapter in their journey.

Known for standout tracks like “Guess She’s Cool,” “Emotionally Hungover,” “You Hate That I’m In Love,” and “I Keep On Messing It Up,” Only The Poets continue to build momentum. Their latest release, “Saké,” adds another irresistible gem to their catalog.

“Saké” blends atmospheric tones with melodic, dance-inducing beats, creating a smooth, late-night vibe that’s impossible to resist. Lyrics such as “I drink it all the time / It helps me make me feel good / Seduction for the mind…” capture the intoxicating allure of nightlife and fleeting pleasures.

Fueled by its moody energy and infectious hooks, “Saké” is a captivating indie-pop escape. Only The Poets once again prove their ability to craft music that feels both effortless and unforgettable.
