DDG & PlaqueBoyMax Team Up for “no dreads”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Sometimes the best revenge is just dropping another track and sounding unbothered while doing it.

I’ll be honest with you: the first time I heard of PlaqueBoyMax was when DDG dropped “Pink Dreads,” a track that had its moment before getting taken down. Now, the two are linking up once again with a new single called “no dreads”—a not-so-subtle way of saying screw you to anyone who tried to silence them.

The chemistry here is undeniable. Both DDG and PlaqueBoyMax ride the beat like twins separated at birth, their voices blending so smoothly you might do a double-take to figure out who’s who. The production has some bounce to it—tempo-driven with heavy bass that still feels soft enough to sink into. It’s the type of beat that can bang in the whip but still be chill enough for late-night headphones.

Lyrically, they keep it classic: women, drugs, and living life like they don’t have a care in the world. DDG sneaks in a melodic hook that stitches the track together, giving it a little extra replay value.

At the end of the day, “no dreads” isn’t meant to reinvent the wheel—it’s just a smooth, fun record that proves both artists know how to stay in their zone. Something slight, but something worth spinning.
