Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” has just made Spotify history, becoming the fastest song ever to hit 200 million streams — and it did it in just over 12 days.
Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” continues to dominate, officially becoming the fastest song in Spotify history to reach both 100 million and 200 million streams. The track, featured on her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, has quickly become a fan favorite and a viral hit across platforms.
Swifties everywhere can’t seem to get enough — and neither can Spotify’s charts. Looking at the full list of fastest-streaming songs ever, Taylor joins some serious company. Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers”, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s “Die With A Smile”, Harry Styles’s “As It Was”, Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” and The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” all hold major milestones beyond the 200M mark. Still, none have risen this quickly off release.
With The Life of a Showgirl only 12 days old, Taylor’s domination shows no sign of slowing down. Each day seems to bring a new record or milestone for the singer, further proving how much of a force she is in modern pop.
We’re all keeping an eye on the charts right now — because at this rate, “The Fate of Ophelia” might just outpace every record on Spotify by the end of the month.
