Trippie Redd Stays Unfiltered and Unhinged on “Stay The Same”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Trippie Redd is on a nice little winning streak, right?

I have a feeling Trippie Redd is in a different headspace right now — maybe it’s fatherhood, maybe it’s focus. Either way, his recent drops have been sounding more experimental, more fearless, and a little more unpredictable. His latest single, “Stay The Same,” continues that streak and proves that Trippie’s versatility remains one of his greatest weapons.

In “Stay The Same,” Trippie dives into his usual mix of chaos and emotion. He raps and croons about sipping codeine, being both the simp and the heartbreaker, and watching others worry about him because, well, they’ve got nothing better going on.

The production is bass-heavy and bouncy with a chill undercurrent that still hits hard enough to rattle your car doors. It’s the kind of beat that makes you nod your head, shake some dreads, or give yourself a self-inflicted headache from all that energy.

Trippie Redd brings out his most unchained, untamed side here — singing like he’s possessed, yet fully in control. Love it or hate it, this is exactly the kind of chaos that only Trippie can pull off.

This is the Trippie Redd that 6ix9ine was frying the other day.
