Do people still rock with Tommy Richman? I do!
Has Tommy Richman’s momentum slowed down a bit? Sure. Was it because he publicly distanced himself from hip-hop earlier this year? Maybe. But one thing’s for certain — he’s still capable of making a track that feels effortlessly cool. With “San Andreas,” Richman continues to blur the lines between genres, sliding back into his groove with the kind of swagger that first got everyone’s attention.
“San Andreas” sounds like the soundtrack to a late-night drive — hazy, rhythmic, and drenched in mood. The production leans on that signature Tommy Richman blend: distorted, soulful vocals, a hip-hop-leaning bounce, and a sprinkle of R&B smoothness that gives the whole track its sway. It’s the kind of song that doesn’t shout for your attention but ends up stuck in your head anyway.
Lyrically, Richman finds himself trying to bridge a gap — working to get on the same wavelength as a woman who might not fully understand his world yet. He plays it cool, using charm, honesty, and his “I got it handled” attitude to make his case. There’s confidence here, but also subtle vulnerability beneath all the polish.
“San Andreas” might not reinvent the Tommy Richman formula, but it proves he’s still got it. The sound, the soul, and the storytelling are all there — only sharper.
