Are you ready for Drake vs Kendrick 2.0?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock — which, given the current housing market, might actually be a wise financial move — you’ve probably heard about Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s infamous beef that shook hip-hop last year. The two rap titans went head-to-head in one of the most heated lyrical battles of the decade, with fans still dissecting every bar, meme, and subliminal. But last night, Drake found a new way to keep things lighthearted.

After the Toronto Blue Jays edged out the Seattle Mariners 4–3 to advance to the World Series, they officially set up a clash with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Naturally, the internet had a field day. Memes flooded social media, painting the series as a symbolic “Drake vs. Kendrick” showdown — Toronto vs. L.A. — with both artists repping their hometown teams in spirit (and color).

Adding fuel to the fun, Toronto rapper and Drake affiliate Top5 shared a screenshot of a DM from Drake himself that simply read: “LA vs Toronto.” While short and sweet, it was enough to send fans into a frenzy, interpreting it as a playful jab at his West Coast rival.

Whether this sparks more jokes or a friendly sports rivalry online, it’s clear the tension between Drake and Kendrick has cooled down — and hip-hop might just be better for it. As for the World Series, it’s shaping up to be a showdown worth watching.
