Ari Lennox’s “Vacancy” Lands on the Billboard 200 at No. 172

I don’t care about the chart position — this is R&B done right.

Ari Lennox’s Vacancy has officially landed at #172 on this week’s Billboard 200, pulling in 9K first-week sales. The project marks Ari’s third official studio album, and while the numbers might not jump off the page, they were never really the point with her.

Ari Lennox has built her career on warmth, honesty, and a voice that feels lived-in. Since breaking through under Dreamville, she’s collaborated with artists like J. Cole, JID, EarthGang, and Summer Walker, carving out a lane where neo-soul, R&B, and raw vulnerability intersect.

With Vacancy, Ari sticks to that same essence. Tracks like “Vacancy” and “Soft Girl Era” lead the charge, pairing silky melodies with grounded storytelling. Backed by production from Jermaine Dupri and a lone but impactful feature from Buju Banton, Ari once again shows her uncanny ability to be seductive without losing her relatability.

For context, age/sex/location opened with 12K first-week sales, while Shea Butter Baby’s debut numbers remain unknown — though the album eventually went gold, which says plenty.

With Ari Lennox, you don’t analyze numbers. You let the albums sit with you. Yeah… I’m lowkey copping pleas for her — but good music deserves patience.
