Toosii Delivers Heartfelt, Soulful New Single “Call Me”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Toosii taps into his emotional side on “Call Me,” a smooth, heartfelt R&B track that blends vulnerability with his signature laid-back delivery.

Toosii is a football player, so he probably understands this comparison: to me, he’s Rod Wave’s backup QB. Whenever Rod has to do time for something or just doesn’t feel like making music, Toosii steps in to deliver that same brand of emotional, soul-stirring R&B. His latest single, “Call Me,” is a perfect example — a track that hits deep on the emotional scale.

“Call Me” is one of the calmest songs you’ll hear today. It’s built around a smooth, laid-back instrumental with a sample that tugs right at your soul.

Over it, Toosii tells his main girl that whenever she needs a little pick-me-up, he’s just one call away — on some Jason Weaver and Chingy-type s**t.

Though he sings with the exhaustion of someone who just clocked out from a 10-hour shift, there’s a warmth and sincerity in his voice that makes the track genuinely irresistible.
