Anytime a gritty album like “Lil Herb” makes it on the Billboard charts, I shiver a little bit.
G Herbo did it big with his latest release, Lil Herb, a fifteen-track album that finds him doing most of the heavy lifting.
The project does feature a few unexpected guest appearances, though — including Wyclef Jean, Jeremih, and Anderson .Paak — adding an eclectic mix to Herbo’s trademark sound.
Right now, the standout tracks that have fans talking are “Went Legit,” “Thank Me,” and “1 Chance,” while “Blitz” seems to be an early favorite across streaming services.
Though Lil Herb’s 22K debut doesn’t quite reach the commercial peak of his 2020 project PTSD (which opened with 59K), what we should really appreciate is that Herbo continues to resist chasing a commercial sound just to boost his numbers — and I respect the hell out of that.
