YoungBoy Never Broke Again Keeps the Energy High on “Zero IQ Freestyle”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Does NBA YoungBoy sleep? How is he able to do all these tracks and music videos?

NBA YoungBoy has had a career of peaks and valleys—some years were tough, particularly during his legal struggles—but 2025 has been mostly a high point. He’s had a hugely successful tour and dropped three albums already this year.

You’d think he might take a breather, but YoungBoy is back with a new single called “Zero IQ Freestyle,” released around the same time as his mixtape with Boosie Badazz, 225 Business.

The track features the signature NBA YoungBoy energy: hard-hitting, bass-heavy production that hits subwoofers hard and sets the mood for action-packed vibes. Over it, YoungBoy delivers an unconventional chorus, repeating “he’s him” almost obsessively, while his verses dive into his willingness to confront rivals. Although the track isn’t revolutionary, it feels targeted, potentially aimed at new rival NLE The Great, with mentions of Kevin Durant and Ken Carson tied to drama with his personal life.
