Grenon returns with “paperbox,” a soothing and poetic pop single built on mellow production and a dynamic, emotionally rich vocal performance.
Originally from New Hampshire and now based in the musical haven of Nashville, Grenon, a high school dropout-turned-songwriter, has done an outstanding job of building her name — releasing music that resonates strongly and performing everywhere from the legendary Bluebird Cafe to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Now, she returns with a new EP called HEALED HEART broken mind. One of our favorite singles from the project is “paperbox.”
“paperbox” glides on a springy, mellow pop instrumental that feels made for sunlit afternoons and carefree walks through a flower garden. It’s soothing, warm, and effortlessly uplifting.
Over the production, Grenon delivers a vocal performance that moves fluidly between tranquil, anxious, passionate, and free — a dynamic emotional range that keeps you locked in.
Lyrically, she finds poetic and honest ways to unpack how memories of someone you once adored can resurface unexpectedly, arriving in small, delicate forms that are impossible to fully outrun. It’s relatable, beautifully written, and packs a surprising emotional punch.
If you’re looking for something blissful, soothing, and quietly powerful, “paperbox” deserves a spin.
