A$AP Rocky Announces “DON’T BE DUMB” Will Drop January 16, 2026

If “DON’T BE DUMB” doesn’t drop on January 16, I will be filing a lawsuit against A$AP Rocky.

After years of rumors, delays, and endless teasing, A$AP Rocky has finally given fans what they’ve been waiting for: an official release date for his long-anticipated fourth studio album, DON’T BE DUMB. The project is set to arrive on January 16, 2026, marking his first full-length release in eight years.

A Long-Awaited Return

Rocky has been promising this album for a long time, often hinting that it was close to completion. Despite that, the release kept getting pushed back due to everything from sample issues to life happening at full speed.

But this time, the date is locked in — at least for now.

Singles Leading Up to the Album

Before officially announcing the release date, Rocky did share several singles from the project, giving fans a glimpse into the album’s direction:

  • “HIGHJACK (right back)”
  • “Ruby Rosary” ft. J. Cole
  • “pray4dagang” ft. KayCyy
  • “Taylor Swif”

Each track hints that Rocky is leaning into experimental sounds, sharp flows, and a more cinematic production style — something he’s been known to explore throughout his career.

A Rocky Road: Legal Battles and Major Life Events

It’s no secret that the delayed rollout wasn’t just about music. Rocky spent part of 2025 dealing with a high-profile court case involving assault-related charges. After a long and public legal process, he was acquitted.

On the personal side, Rocky and Rihanna also welcomed another child, further shifting his priorities and time. Add magazine covers, fashion moments, and even a role in the film Highest 2 Lowest — and it’s easy to see why this album took time.

Rocky’s life has been loud, busy, and very, very public.

Will DON’T BE DUMB Actually Drop This Time?

That’s the big question.

Rocky has admitted in past interviews that he announced release dates too early in the past. This time, however, he revealed the date during a live performance — wearing a sweater stamped with January 16, 2026.

Momentum feels real, but fans are still approaching with cautious optimism.

Why This Album Matters

  • First A$AP Rocky album since Testing (2018)
  • Expected to feature high-profile collaborators
  • Arrives during a major transition period in his personal and artistic life
  • Could become one of his most vulnerable and evolved projects yet

Do you think Rocky’s new album will actually arrive on January 16, 2026 — or will it get pushed again?
