Pusha T Says He’s Done With Diss Tracks: “It’s Kind of Dead to Me.”

Pusha T is getting real about feature artists and diss tracks.

Pusha T has made it official—he’s stepping away from diss tracks altogether. In a new interview with Consequence, the legendary rapper opened up about outgrowing the back-and-forth nature of rap beef and stepping into a new creative phase.

“I’ve kind of been through that chapter and I’m over it. I’m somewhere right now where I don’t even want to make music with other people, nevertheless [have] anybody else in my music or be the focus of my music. What we’re doing right here [with Clipse] is, to me, so next level. I feel like the taste level is above everything else.”

Pusha explained that the entire ecosystem of diss tracks has shifted. What once felt like a battle with a definitive winner now feels more like endless chatter.

“It’s kind of dead to me. It’s the ransom of what a diss track used to bring: There was a clear winner. Somebody would really bow out and then that’s it — the last man standing. Now it’s just a whole bunch of noise. Even after we find winners, it’s still noise. And it’s like, man, then what’s it for?”

And honestly, his point lands. Diss tracks used to be cultural events—moments that shaped eras. Today, the theatrics overshadow the art, and the back-and-forth often drags on past the point of meaning.

As an artist, you eventually have to choose the kind of energy you want to carry in your work. For Pusha T, clarity, intentionality, and elevated artistry are taking center stage. No more chaos. No more distractions.

One thing is clear: Pusha knows exactly who he is, and he’s choosing evolution over noise.
