DaBaby Flips a Classic on “PBJT”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

DaBaby definitely looks like someone who still eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

There was a moment in hip-hop when DaBaby felt completely unstoppable. His rise was loud, energetic, and full of personality, and whether people loved him or hated him, everyone was paying attention.

Fast-forward to now, and while the industry may have tried to push him to the side, DaBaby still carries that bold, unshakeable charisma that made him a star in the first place. His newest single, “PBJT,” is a perfect example of that energy — a playful nod to a childhood classic delivered with the swagger only DaBaby can offer.

“PBJT” flips the iconic Buckwheat Boyz chorus from “Peanut Butter Jelly Time,” but DaBaby transforms it into something far harder than the original. Instead of leaning into the goofy nostalgia, he injects it with gritty confidence, rapping about millionaire status, firearm bravado, and still enjoying peanut butter sandwiches even with wealth. The track’s production is lighthearted yet triumphant, blending bouncy rhythms with a celebratory feel that instantly catches your attention.

Will I download this track? No. However, I wouldn’t mind listening to it again…
