A radiant alt-pop gem that beautifully embodies the intoxicating experience of infatuation.
Shanghai-born Julius Black is a multi-talented artist whose sound is both intimate and expansive, blending sculpted melodies with lush atmospheres and a tender vocal presence that naturally complements his moody songwriting. His passion for music was sparked early by discovering The Beatles, leading him to study classical music before branching into R&B, pop, and hip-hop. By seventeen, Julius was already writing his own songs, shaping a style rooted in emotion and musical curiosity.
He released his debut EP, Dopamine, in 2021, followed by two additional singles before the year wrapped. Now, Julius returns with Bodies, a three-track EP that further sharpens his artistic identity. The title track arrives with an official visualizer, and on Instagram, Julius shared that performing “Bodies” live feels transcendent, hoping the recorded version carries that same energy to listeners.
Sonically, “Bodies” thrives on warm guitar lines and vibrant, pulsing beats that pull you into a dreamy, hypnotic atmosphere. The production feels weightless yet immersive, creating space for Julius’s voice to glide effortlessly across the instrumental.
Lyrically, lines like “Am I dreaming? / I can’t shake off this feeling” capture the dizzying rush of infatuation. With soft vocals and a nostalgic glow, Julius Black delivers a radiant alt-pop gem that captures the intoxicating pull of desire and connection.
