“Her Loss” is a classic album, right?
Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss has officially surpassed 4 billion streams on Spotify, making it the first hip-hop collaborative album in history to reach that milestone.
The pairing may have seemed unlikely on paper, with Drake’s melodic instincts contrasting 21 Savage’s icy, deadpan delivery, but their chemistry had already proven effective on past collaborations. When Her Loss arrived, it more than delivered, debuting with over 410,000 first-week sales and spawning massive records like “Rich Flex,” “Spin Bout U,” and “Pussy & Millions.” The album kept features minimal, with Travis Scott as the lone guest, allowing the duo’s dynamic to remain front and center.
While the project will be remembered for its commercial dominance and radio-ready hits, it also stood out for Drake’s unapologetically petty bars aimed at Adidas, Serena Williams, and Megan Thee Stallion, along with the now-iconic “21, can you do something for me?” moment. For many listeners, Her Loss marked the beginning of Drake’s villain-era energy, which arguably helped fuel the 20 v 1 against him.
Regardless of perspective, Her Loss has aged into a borderline classic, and it’s fitting that Drake and 21 Savage are still aligned, recently linking up again on their new collaboration, “RECOUP.”
